MODUL Tourism College trains educators from China


Developed in tandem with the Chinese Ministry for Education, MODUL Tourism College of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently begun its seventh cycle of further education seminars for Chinese teachers in the Tourism and Hotel Management fields. Since January 2008, MODUL Tourism College has welcomed educators from all across China for six week intensive courses targeting both methodical and practical applications of their training.

Though this collaboration, over 200 selected educators will be familiarized with with the latest developments in tourism. Each six week seminar consists of 20 participants receiving simultaneous translation from German into Chinese, taught by both faculty of the MODUL Tourism College, as well as prominent local representatives of the tourism industry. This international initiative has also won the cooperation of the City of Vienna as a co-partner, supporting the workshop series through the Vienna Tourism Association.

Due to the huge success of previous seminars, the collaboration is being considered for a ten seminar extension.

Thanks to the efforts of the MODUL teams in supporting the seminar participants and the variety of China-oriented activities of MODUL, the tourism college can pride itself on building a very positive image as a Know-How platform and fomenter of vocational education in the People’s Republic of China.
